beach bags

for our girls trip to the beach last week i knew i wanted to make something special.  i was inspired by this great canvas bag i saw on pinterest.

at the fabric store i stumbled onto this amazing yellow and grey canvas.  i couldn't resist the yellow chevron!  the fabric was home decor fabric which comes on a 60" bolt, so i was able to make 6 bags out of just 2 yards.  i also lined the bags with white canvas and put a pocket on the inside.  with my 40% off coupon i got all of my supplies for only $35!  i don't think i could have bought one beach bag for that cheap.  

as soon as i got there i couldn't wait to give them out!

everybody loved them and they were perfect for the beach.

i think it's going to make a great summer purse/pool bag too.
