digging myself out

It's been about a week now that I've let things pile up all over my apartment. Kamp ended last week and I had friends staying with me for a few days so I put off putting away laundry and doing other house chores. Later in the week I hosted a party, had to say goodbye to a great friend who moved away, then got a cold which knocked me out for the weekend. So basically I've been living in a disaster zone. I'm sick of having this cold so I think getting this place cleaned up will help me feel better. Tonight's goal is the dishes. I've already washed as many as will fit in the sink. Before I go to bed I must finish them all!

Tomorrow's goal: the laundry. It's been clean for over a week and is begging to be put away.

I'm flipping between The Hills season premiere (!) and the Olympics right now while munching on dark chocolate covered cherries from Cherry Republic (thanks mom and dad!). I'm sad that swimming is over. I just watched trampoline...interesting that that is an Olympic sport, but it's pretty cool. Those girls can flip!

Ok, back to the dishes. Maybe I'll even get crazy and clean the counters too.

It's a good day

Don't you love it when you wake up and you can just tell it's going to be a great day? Today felt like one of those days. And it's Monday! That never happens. :) This weekend I finally found a travel mug that is microwaveable (I'm always looking for one) so I easily made myself some chai tea and got right out the door this morning. Today is the last official day of kamp for 2008. It's bittersweet as always.

Have you been watching the Olympics this weekend? I was completely BLOWN AWAY by the opening ceremonies!! That was the most incredible thing I've ever seen. I've been enjoying all of the swimming this weekend. Last night's men's relay (4x100 free I think) was a great race! So fun to see Michael Phelps take 2 golds so far. I hope he gets all eight. Also, Shawn Johnson my fellow Valley High girl!! Go Tigers! :) West Des Moines finally has a real claim to fame. The USA gymnastics team had a rough start but they are looking great for the finals. As you probably know, I am not much of a sports fan or participant for that matter but something about the Olympics gets me fired up! I love it! Go USA!!

Have a great Monday!

Foam Party!

One of the most fun things this summer has been the "Animal Planet" party at K-Kountry. They create this foam pit for the kids that is just as much fun for the staff. We are just big kids at heart anyway. Here's some fun pictures of us playing in the foam pit.

Hot, Hot, Hot

We are melting here in Branson! It has been over 100 degrees with the heat index for about the past 5 days. I'm trying not to get crabby about it, but I'm ready for a break. This weekend I went to the pool with some friends and we never even got out of the water. Only 9 more days of kamp left. I can't believe how fast the summer has gone! I'm ready for the fall to begin here, but I know I'll miss the summer too. I'm trying to soak in the last few days here with everyone. I hope you're having a great day!
