K-Kountry Staff Training Week

As you may have noticed I've been away for a little while. I moved to kamp for the summer and I'm not able to get online much there. So, I have to save my blog posting for when I am on time off. Here's a quick little recap of the last week or so. Until June 1st just our staff is here for a week of training and getting to know each other. We have had a great time so far despite many days of rain.

On one of our first night's we went to see Kirby Van Burch's Magic Show here in Branson. When we walked in to the theater we found this guy holding a KANGAROO! Only in Branson!
Our second night was "girls night" (the guys had "guys night") and we went all out. We baked cupcakes, drank tea and lemodade, and talked about girly things. Love it. Here's the beautiful cupcakes...don't they look delicious?!
Sarah worked tirelessly putting orange slices on all of the glasses. :)
Katie shared her super cute pink pom poms to decorate the doors. No guy was going to want to come in to this dining hall! :)
We all tye-dyed t-shirts to wear for "Chica Dia" this summer with the kampers. So fun!
Blair, Lauren, and I showing off our treats. Can you see what I'm holding? They are fruit kabobs with orange slices, strawberries, and marshmallows, drizzled with chocolate. YUM.
This weekend was "Alumni Weekend" where we invite any past staff to come and enjoy a day of speakers, concerts, and memories together. It was a great day until the heavens opened up and it started pouring! Here's a fun pic of Katie, Kelli, Ashley, and I...well our feet anyway. We all wore our TOMS that day. Those are becoming a favorite shoe for me to wear at kamp.
Well, that's all for now. I'll be back this weekend with another update and hopefully some fun pics. This blog is helping me do better at taking pictures throughout the day because I want to have something to share with you! Keep in touch this summer. Email me or comment here!
xoxo,
jane

New Etsy Listings

Just wanted to let you know I listed a few new things in my etsy store. There are 3 sets of bobby pins with adorable yellow buttons.

Also - Rachel, I listed the green butterfly clip you asked for so you can go to the store to buy it.

I'm hoping to have some more greeting cards listed very soon! Keep checking back.

:)

That was quick!

Ok - so my neighbor just called and bought all 6 of these! I'm working on making more and will let you know when they are done. Still let me know if you want some and I'll whip them right up! :)

Butterfly Clips

Hey friends. I've been inspired by the new trend of fancy headbands and clips (thank you, Sara). I really want some of my own, but can't bring myself to spend $30 on a hair accessory. So, what to do? Make my own, of course! So last night I went to Michael's and searched for the perfect embellishments. I found these super cute butterflies, pulled out some ribbon I already had and...TA DA!

I clipped mine onto an elastic headband that I got at Wal Mart. I made three clips for myself - pink, green, and orange. I wore this green one today and got tons of compliments. BONUS - these headbands don't give me a headache and stay perfectly in place all day long! I think I'm going to develop a new obsession. These are going to be perfect for this summer at kamp. Want one for yourself? I made 6 extra's and would love to share! Just $2 per clip. Here's what you have to choose from. There's 2 pink, 2 green, 1 yellow, and 1 orange. Just leave me a comment if you want one!

How cute are they just perched in the grass there?
I love summer. :)

San Diego with the Finnster

I am so in love! I spent the weekend in San Diego with my sisters, brother-in-law, and my nephew. The last time I saw Finn was at Christmas and he has doubled in size since then! He is so expressive and playful. We had lots of good bonding time and I spoiled him rotten. At 8 months old, spoiling him basically means holding him as much as possible. Now that we are gone, mom is having to pay the price for that. Sorry! :) How could you ever put this little guy down?!

Here we are together. BFF.
Finn having his first brewskie and watching some basketball. "who's winning this game guys?"

Finn with his mommy and aunties.

Our poolside cabana. Those chairs were the most comfortable things I have ever sat on. Finn really got his moneys worth - napped all afternoon right there.

As much as we tried to cover him up he wanted to be out in the sunshine! So happy!Amy and I babysat one night so Noah and Anne could go out for dinner. So of course we set him up for a little photoshoot. Got a great smile!
We ordered in some sushi. Delish!

Thanks for a great trip girls (and boys)! Can't wait to see you all again soon.

Little Miss Woods comma Elle

OMG you guys!! So, for my birthday my amazing friends gave me two tickets to see Legally Blonde the Musical on tour this summer. I just got my tickets a few days ago and I am so excited! I invited my friend Ashley to go with me. We both LOVE the show and basically have the soundtrack memorized. I can't wait to road trip together (it's just two hours away in Arkansas) to the show and rock out to the soundtrack the whole way there!

I dropped this by her office yesterday to invite her to the show. We both squealed with excitement! Get out your pink Ash - it's going to be the girliest day EVER!!
(NOTE: Please ignore the ridiculous picture of me with blonde extensions in my hair. We had a costume party to watch the DVD and I went all out...it's embarassing but whatever. Ashley still looks super cute of course.)

New project

I wanted to share a new little project I'm working on with you. I saw this idea online and wanted to try and make them myself. I'm going to make a bunch of them for this summer since I'll be wearing my hair in a ponytail and my bangs pulled back for three months straight, anything to make me feel more feminine is very welcomed! I think I'm going to put these two sets in my etsy store (unless anyone wants them - speak up and you can have them! $3.50 for a set of 5 pins - just leave me a comment).

What do you think? Like them? I think I need a creative name for them...any ideas?

Sorry this one is backwards. I took the picture on my computer and it was mirror imaged and I can't figure out how to flip it.

I'm out of bobby pins so I had to stop making them for tonight, but they are on my Target list for this week. I'm sure I'll be back with more soon!

SALE SALE SALE!

For the month of May all of the mats in my etsy store are $10 off! Check it out and spread the word! I'm heading to kamp for 3 months in just a few weeks and will have to shut down my store. So get a mat for yourself or one for a friend. They'd make a great Mother's Day gift! :)
